France's Olivier Giroud honours World Cup bet, shaves head

Ever a man of his word, Olivier Giroud has honoured a bet he made before the World Cup by getting his head shaved.

The 31-year-old striker vowed to surrender his hair should France emerge victorious in Russia.

"I only have one rule, so I will respect it," he said. "My wife wants me to do it after the baptism of our son on Sunday."

Lo and behold, Giroud posted a selfie on social media later that very day to prove he'd kept up his end of the bargain.

While teammates Hugo Lloris and Nabil Fekir also promised to follow suit and shave their heads should France beat Croatia in the final, the real onus is now very much on Blaise Matuidi.

Indeed, the midfielder promised to cycle all the way from Paris to Turin should Les Bleus lift the World Cup.

That's approximately 775km if you were wondering.
