Roma celebrate knocking Barcelona out of Champions League in style

Against all the odds, Roma reversed a three-goal deficit carried over from the first leg to send Barcelona spiralling out of the Champions League at the quarterfinal stage.

The Giallorossi pulled off a shock 3-0 win in the second leg at the Stadio Olimpico to send their Catalan visitors out on away goals -- thus sparking wild celebrations throughout the stadium and the city at large.

The emotional outpouring began when Kostas Manolas scored Roma's decisive goal in the 82nd minute, causing Roma's in-house commentator Carlo Zampa to have a breakdown live on air.

Zampa's outburst was matched in the Roma dressing room after the final whistle, with the players and staff revelling in their outstanding performance.

And the club website enjoyed itself on Twitter too...

But the most joyous celebration of the night, however, was that of Roma president James Pallotta, who joined fans taking an impromptu swim in the fountain on Rome's Piazza del Popolo.

Safe to say, there are definitely going to be several thousand sore heads in the Italian captial city on Wednesday morning -- and who can possibly blame them?

What an amazing night of Champions League football.
