Man United's Champions League exit: Events since last UCL knockout win

In losing out to Sevilla in the round of 16, Manchester United's woeful record in Champions League knockout fixtures was extended for at least another year.

Indeed, United last won a Champions League knockout game on March 19, 2014 -- that's a full three years, 11 months and counting.

To put that in some sort of perspective, here is a list of things that have happened in the period since David Moyes' glorious 3-2 win over Olympiacos.

- Manchester United have been through three managers -- Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho -- and four if you count Ryan Giggs' four-game stint as caretaker boss.

- Real Madrid have won the Champions League three times.

- Leicester City have been promoted to the Premier League and won it (and won a UCL knockout match, ironically against Sevilla).

- Harry Kane has scored all 102 of his Premier League goals.

- Leeds United have had nine different managers. Palermo have had 12.

- Diego Costa moved from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea, won a Premier League title, then went back to Atletico.

- Xabi Alonso, Steven Gerrard, Kaka, Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Francesco Totti have all retired from professional football.

- The United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union.

- Donald Trump was still two years from launching his presidential campaign.

- Meghan Markle has filmed five seasons of Suits before meeting Prince Harry and becoming engaged to a member of the British Royal Family.

- Movies 2-5 in the "Sharknado" series have all been released.
