Spurs' Harry Kane has doppelganger in chubby Teesside bin man

Wisdom says that everyone has a doppelganger somewhere in the world -- though Harry Kane doesn't have to look very far to find a slightly, erm, larger version of him.

Paul Foden, from Eston, in the northeast of England, has been embracing the comparisons for years, going so far as to refer to himself as "Chubby Harry Kane" on Twitter.

The 28-year-old bin man, a passionate Middlesbrough supporter, even bought a Kane shirt to wear when playing football with his mates.

"When he started popping up for Spurs, I used to get it in the pub, or when I was out and about," Foden told the Teesside Gazette.

"People would say, 'You don't half look like...' and I'd finish it for them with, 'Yes, I know, Harry Kane!' And the more famous he got, the more it happened. But it's just a bit of a laugh. I'm not impersonating him. I just look like his fatter older brother."

Of course, those who think that he doesn't look like Kane -- or who object to the comparisons -- have also made sometimes hurtful comments on social media.

"I don't take it to heart -- it's only words," Foden said. "Some have said, 'You look nothing like him,' but I don't really claim to. It's other people who think I do.

"It's the chubbiness that attracts the humour. I suppose I've got the eyes and nose, but it's the chubbiness people like."

Foden said that he's been approached several times to stand in as Kane at public appearances and was once asked to play in a five-a-side lookalike tournament.

Perhaps he could link up with fake Lionel Messi and fake Cristiano Ronaldo, with fake Roy Hodgson as their manager?
