Atletico Madrid send photos of Wanda Metropolitano opening to Tom Cruise

After a world premiere that earned rave reviews and ended with the hero saving the day, Atletico Madrid want a movie star to take note of their new stadium.

The club reached out to Tom Cruise via Twitter, sending along photos not only of the opening of the Wanda Metropolitano during a victory over Malaga on Saturday, but also reminding the star of "Top Gun," "Jerry Maguire" and the "Mission: Impossible" films of his visit in May.

Cruise, who was then in Madrid to promote his latest film, "The Mummy," visited the stadium while it was under construction and received a tour from midfielder Saul Niguez and club president Enrico Cerezo and a No. 8 shirt with his name on it.

"It will be a really magnificent stadium and I can't wait to watch them come back and play here now," Cruise said at the time, according to Atletico's website.

"I was invited and I can't wait to see it with all the screens and all the fans here because there's nothing like really watching a football match here in Spain."

If visiting a half-finished stadium was truly an "unforgettable experience," as Cruise later remarked on Twitter, one could only imagine what he would say after taking in a game.

Now, Atletico just have to hope that Cruise doesn't take a hint from the title of his latest "Jack Reacher" film and "Never Go Back."
