You may be labouring under the assumption that Leicester City's astonishing rise to the summit of the Premier League has been down to a healthy mix of good coaching, a gutsy work ethic and an enviable team spirit.
Not so, it would seem. A group of Thai Buddhist monks is possibly due partial credit for the Foxes' incredible title tilt.
Indeed, a half-dozen or so Buddhist monks have spent the past three years visiting the King Power Stadium in order to bless the pitch and hand out lucky charms to the players in order to envelop the club in an aura of good karma.
"I hang some amulets on their necks and I gave them these fabric talismans," monk Phra Prommangkalachan told AFP.
"I'm not sure if they understood what I explained to them about it, but they knew that it would bring them luck."
The monks were invited by Leicester chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who is said to be a firm believer in the power of karma.
"He brought monks there to pray for auspiciousness and luck in the game, for the management team and the players," added the 64-year-old monk.
The results speak for themselves.
