Transfer Rater: Edin Dzeko to Chelsea Jean Michael Seri to Man United

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Edin Dzeko to Chelsea

The Premier League champions are in the market for a striker this month and with an injury putting an end to any plans to sign Andy Carroll, they have made Roma's Dzeko a top target. Antonio Conte has wanted back-up for Alvaro Morata since the summer, when the Blues missed out on the signing of Fernando Llorente. According to Sky Italia, Chelsea have put together a package which would see them pay €50 million as well as loan Michy Batshuayi to the Serie A side in exchange for Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri.

Jean Michael Seri to Manchester United

United are prepared to go to battle with neighbours City once again. Fresh from convincing Alexis Sanchez to join, Jose Mourinho believes he can tempt Seri into moving to Old Trafford. The Nice No.6 has just 18 months remaining on his contract and the French club may look to cash in on him during the summer. According to reports in The Guardian, the Ligue 1 side are believed to want in the region of €35m for their box-to-box midfielder.

Daniel Sturridge to Roma

The Liverpool forward is looking to leave the club this month in search of first-team football. The Times named Inter Milan as a potential destination for the 28-year-old but Sky Italia claim Roma are trying to bring Sturridge to the Italian capital as a potential replacement for Dzeko. The report reveals it would initially be a short-term loan with an option to buy the former Chelsea striker in the summer. Sturridge is open to a move abroad as he looks to force his way into England's 2018 World Cup squad.

Aleix Vidal to Napoli

Serie A leaders Napoli are looking to add depth to their squad during the January window and CalcioMercato believe the club are interested in Barcelona right-back Vidal. Though the Serie A side have Elseid Hysaj, a Manchester United transfer target, as their first-choice right-back, manager Maurizio Sarri wants quality back-up. Vidal is reportedly open to a move but would prefer to stay in Spain if possible.

Quincy Promes to Southampton

Sky Sports News believe Promes is a top transfer target for Southampton this month and that the Premier League club are weighing up a £30m move for the Spartak Moscow forward. The Dutchman was linked with a move to Liverpool and Chelsea last season but stayed with Spartak to help them win the Russian league. However, he's now desperate to play in England and could see Southampton as a potential stepping stone if he impressed.
