Transfer Rater: Saul to Man United, Robert Lewandowski to Man City

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Adrien Rabiot to Inter Milan

With a contract which expires in 2019, clubs are on alert for the midfielder to see how negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain progress over the coming months. Italian publication Calciomercato are reporting that the 22-year-old is high on the wanted list at Inter, after previously attracting attention from English clubs Arsenal and Tottenham. PSG will be reluctant to sell one of their homegrown players, but might be interested in balancing their books after a summer of lavish spending on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Saul Niguez to Manchester United

Manchester United sent scouts to watch the Champions League game between Roma and Atletico Madrid as they look for a long term replacement for Michael Carrick. According to the Daily Star, one of the players they were interested in is Atletico's 22-year-old midfielder Saul, who can play in central or defensive midfield roles, similar to Carrick. They were also taking notes on Roma's Radja Nainggolan, but the Spanish alternative may be more easily attainable -- though he did just sign a massive nine year contract.

Robert Lewandowski to Manchester City

The Poland striker has been involved in a public war of words with Bayern Munich after criticising their transfer strategy and making noises about a move to Real Madrid. However, there has been nothing from the Bernabeu to indicate that they are interested in the 29-year-old, which has led Manchester City to believe that they could be in with a chance of signing him according to the Mirror. Pep Guardiola worked with the player during his time in Munich, and he would be the perfect fit for his system at City -- though that would spell the end of Sergio Aguero surely.

Sadio Mane to Juventus

Mane's scintillating start to the season has not gone unnoticed on the continent, with Juventus at the head of a queue of teams which includes Barcelona and Real Madrid in the chase for his signature. The Mirror report that Liverpool could be tested as they were with Philippe Coutinho as their bright attack continues to outperform their shaky defence. Mane has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season, and the winger will no doubt attract further interest as it continues.

Cenk Tosun to Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs have focused their scouting efforts on Turkish club Besiktas in recent weeks, with Tosun, Anderson Talisca and Oguzhan Ozyakup all reportedly on the club's radar. The striker scored against Porto in the Champions League with Mauricio Pochettino's scouts looking on, and the German-born Turkey international is said to have impressed. He would cost the north Londoners around €20m, and his price has gone up since Crystal Palace offered €13.5m on transfer deadline day.
