Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates fifth Ballon d'Or by topping Power Rankings

1. Cristiano Ronaldo | Real Madrid

Why he's here: Ronaldo celebrated his fifth Ballon d'Or by netting a brace in Real Madrid's 5-0 walloping of Sevilla on Saturday.

2. Lionel Messi | Barcelona

Why he's here: Messi scored once as Barcelona beat Villarreal 2-0 on Sunday. It was the Argentine's 525th goal for the club, tying Gerd Muller for most goals for a single club in Europe's top five leagues.

3. Kylian Mbappe | Paris Saint-Germain

Why he's here: The 18-year-old scored one (and would've had a second if not for the woodwork) and assisted on another as PSG beat Lille 3-1 on Saturday.

4. Samir Handanovic | Internazionale

Why he's here: Handanovic made eight saves as he led Inter to a 0-0 draw against serial Serie A winners Juventus on Saturday.

5. Nicolas Otamendi | Manchester City

Why he's here: Otamendi scored a goal, started Man City's buildup and stifled his opponents in the 2-1 win at Manchester United on Sunday.

6. Giacomo Bonaventura | AC Milan

Why he's here: Bonaventura scored both of Milan's goals in a commanding midfield performance in Sunday's 2-1 win over Bologna.

7. David Silva | Manchester City

Why he's here: Silva dictated Man City's pace in the derby win at United, as well as snuffing out the hosts' threat in midfield.

8. Son Heung-Min | Tottenham Hotspur

Why he's here: Son was Spurs' central threat, running at defenders and netting a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win vs. Stoke on Saturday.

9. Vincent Aboubakar | Porto

Why he's here: The Cameroon international was directly involved in four of Porto's five goals in Sunday's 5-0 win at Setubal, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist.

10. Houssem Aouar | Lyon

Why he's here: The 19-year-old midfielder scored a pair of goals as Lyon came from behind to beat Amiens 2-1 on Sunday.
