Mohamed Salah salvages late draw for Egypt at Nigeria in ANC qualifying

Mohamed Salah scored in stoppage time to salvage a 1-1 draw for Egypt at Nigeria in a 2017 African Nations Cup qualifier on Friday.

Oghenekaro Etebo had provided Nigeria with the lead on 95 minutes, though Odion Ighalo missed chances to double their advantage.

And Egypt made them pay late on when Etebo played Salah onside to score in the final moments.

Egypt lead Group G by two points midway through the campaign, with Nigeria's chances starting to dim after they already failed to win at Tanzania in September.

Gervinho scored as Ivory Coast held off Sudan 1-0 to take a one-point lead over their opponents in the three-team Group I.

The goal came in the 34th minute after Salomon Kalou mis-hit a shot in the box and it bounced backwards into the path of Gervinho to score from 12 yards.

Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez recorded four assists as Algeria stayed perfect in Group J with a 7-1 win against Ethiopia.

Sofiane Feghouli and Islam Slimani both scored twice while Yacine Brahimi, Saphir Taider and Rachid Ghezzal all added goals for the hosts, who opened a five-point lead.

Youssef Msakni scored shortly after half-time as Tunisia revived their campaign with a 1-0 win over Togo, whose request to move the game had been denied.

Tunisia, Togo and Liberia are all level atop Group A with six points apiece.

Mali took back the lead in Group C with 1-0 win at Equatorial Guinea, Molla Wague scoring eight minutes from time.

Swaziland and Zimbabwe remained level at the top of Group L after a 1-1 draw.

Felix Badenhors scored for Swaziland in the second minute, but the visitors were able to equalise through a Ndokuito own goal just before half-time.

Malawi and Guinea played to a goalless draw in the group's other game to stay three points back of the leaders.

Cheikh Moulaye Khalil scored his second goal of the game in stoppage time to give Mauratania a 2-1 win over Gambia and move them level on points atop Group M with Cameroon, ahead of the Indomitable Lions' match against South Africa on Saturday.

Also on Friday, tournament hosts Gabon defeated Sierra Leone 2-1 in a friendly.
