  • M: The number of matches played.
  • W: The number of matches won.
  • L: The number of matches lost.
  • T: The number of matches tied.
  • N/R: The number of matches abandoned.
  • PT: Number of points awarded.
  • NRR: Net Run Rate

The following points system will apply:

Win 2
Tie or no result 1
Loss 0

Group Stage

In the event of teams finishing on equal points in their Group, the order of finishing will be decided in the following order of priority:

  • The team with the more wins in the Group stage will be placed in the higher position.
  • If there are teams with equal points and equal wins in the Group stage then in such case the team with the higher net run rate in the Group stage will be placed in the higher position (refer to clause 21.10.5 below for the calculation of net run rate).
  • If still equal, the team which was the winner of the head to head match played between them will be placed in the higher position.
  • In the highly unlikely event that teams cannot be separated by the above this will be done by drawing lots.
  • If all matches within a Group are a no result, the top three seeded teams will progress to the Super Sixes.

Super Sixes

In the event of teams finishing on equal points at the end of the Super Sixes, the right to play in the final will be decided by the following order of priority:

  • The most wins in all of the matches against the other Super Sixes qualifiers.
  • If there are still teams with equal points and equal wins in the Super Sixes matches then in such case the team with the higher net run rate in all matches played against the other Super Sixes qualifiers (in both the Group stage and Super Sixes matches) will be placed in the higher position.
  • If still equal, then the team which was the winner of the head to head match played between them will be placed in the higher position.
  • In the highly unlikely event that teams cannot be separated by the above this will be done by drawing lots.
  • If all matches within the Super Sixes are a no result, the top team in each Group will contest the final, with the remaining teams participating in playoff matches depending on their group position.

Playoff Matches (3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th positions)

In the event of a tied playoff match or if there is no result, the following shall apply:

1.

Tied match - the teams shall compete in a Super Over to determine which team is the winner. Details for Super Over.

If weather conditions prevent the Super Over from being completed in the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th playoff matches, the result will be a tie and the teams will be ranked in the position that they finished in the Super Sixes Group.

If the 7th/8th playoff match is a tie, the provisions for a no-result in the 7th/8th playoff match below will apply.

2.

No Result:

  • 3rd/4th and 5th/6th playoff matches

In the event of a no result the teams will be ranked in the position that they finished in the Super Sixes Group.

  • 7th/8th playoff match

The team with the most number of wins in the group matches will be placed in the higher position.

If still equal the team with the higher net run rate in the group matches will be placed in the higher position.

In the highly unlikely event that teams cannot be separated by the above this will be done by drawing lots.

Final

In the event of a tied final, the teams shall compete in a Super Over to determine which team is the winner. Details for Super Over. If weather conditions prevent the Super Over from being completed, or if the match is a no result, the teams shall be declared joint winners.

Net Run Rate

A team's net run rate is calculated in respect of the matches played during that part of the competition, by deducting the average runs per over scored against that team from the average runs per over scored by that team.

Note: Any play during a Super Over is excluded from these calculations.

In the event of a team being all out in less than its full quota of overs, the calculation of its net run rate shall be based on the full quota of overs to which it would have been entitled and not on the number of overs in which the team was dismissed.

Only those matches where results are achieved will count for the purpose of net run rate calculations. Where a match is abandoned, but a result is achieved under Duckworth/Lewis, for net run rate purposes Team 1 will be accredited with Team 2's Par Score on abandonment off the same number of overs faced by Team 2.

Where a match is concluded but with Duckworth/Lewis having been applied at an earlier point in the match, Team 1 will be accredited with 1 run less than the final Target Score for Team 2 off the total number of overs allocated to Team 2 to reach the target.
