Louisville's Ray Spalding will not start tonight but will play. Spalding did not practice yesterday due to a lower back injury.

The NIT features wider lanes and an extended three-point line. Dino Gaudio walks us through the "new rules."

No. 1 Virginia advances over Louisville (0:35)

David Padgett on whether Louisville deserves an NCAA tournament bid: "Without a doubt. If you look at our overall body of work, we haven't done anything wrong. People used to put a lot of weight on bad losses, and we don't have any of those."

FINAL: Virginia 75, Louisville 58. The Cardinals now have to wait. Two things stand out to me: 5-13 vs. Quadrants 1 and 2. And even if it's not an official criteria anymore, they're 0-11 against RPI top-50 teams. No marquee wins. Predictive metrics like them, though.

Mamadi Diakite has added some consistent scoring to his repertoire in the last few games. Nine points in each of the last two games, 10 points in 12 minutes so far today. We'll just pretend the airballed jump-hook didn't happen.

Louisville showed some fight toward the end of the half. Hit a couple 3s, got a couple stops. Looked like Virginia was going to blow the game open, but Louisville stayed within striking distance. Virginia up 11 at halftime.

Paul Sabin ESPN Analytics

BPI thinks Louisville is safe even with a loss. The Cardinals are currently 40th in SOR, 31st in BPI, 32nd in KenPom, and 46th in RPI. Our metrics also agree that Virginia not getting a No. 1 seed would be a shock regardless of what the Cavaliers do in the ACC tournament.

ACC quarterfinal time. Louisville about to tip off in a win-and-in situation against Virginia.

Louisville tops Florida State to set up Virginia game (0:34)

Louisville beats Florida State 82-74 in ACC Tournament

Quentin Snider scored 19 points, Ray Spalding had 18 and Louisville built a huge lead before knocking off Florida State 82-74 on Wednesday in an Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament game with substantial NCAA implications.

Don't think Louisville punches its ticket with the win over Florida State, but the Cardinals keep their hopes alive heading into a third matchup with Virginia. Still a lot to play out over the next five days. Louisville is still only 5-12 against Quadrants 1 + 2.

Louisville's suffocating defense leads to King dunk (0:17)

Louisville rolling right now. Ended the half on a 24-5 run, up 41-22 on Florida State.

Darius Perry has provided a nice boost for Louisville off the bench. Brings a lot of energy, gets after it defensively. Also hit a 3 and found Ray Spalding for a 3.

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

It's win-and-in for Louisville today. The Cardinals have a 56% chance to earn the victory, per BPI.
