Belmont beats Missouri State 93-78

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- — Cade Tyson scored 25 points as Belmont beat Missouri State 93-78 on Saturday night.

Tyson added nine rebounds for the Bruins (17-12, 10-8 Missouri Valley Conference). Ja'Kobi Gillespie added 24 points while shooting 8 for 16 (3 for 7 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free throw line, and they also had five assists. Malik Dia shot 5 for 15, including 3 for 7 from beyond the arc to finish with 13 points, while adding eight rebounds and three blocks.

The Bears (15-14, 7-11) were led in scoring by Chance Moore, who finished with 18 points and seven rebounds and Matthew Lee who also scored 18 points. Alston Mason had 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Belmont took the lead with 13:30 left in the first half and never looked back. The score was 46-38 at halftime, with Gillespie racking up 13 points. Belmont extended its lead to 53-38 during the second half, fueled by a 7-0 scoring run. Tyson scored a team-high 14 points in the second half as their team closed out the win.
