VALPARAISO, Ind. -- — Jayson Kent scored 23 points as Indiana State beat Valparaiso 83-64 on Wednesday night.

Kent had six rebounds for the Sycamores (23-5, 14-3 Missouri Valley Conference). Xavier Bledson added 15 points while shooting 6 for 8, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc, and he also had six rebounds. Ryan Conwell had 15 points and shot 5 for 11, including 3 for 7 from beyond the arc.

The Beacons (6-22, 2-15) were led in scoring by Isaiah Stafford, who finished with 23 points. Jerome Palm added 14 points and two steals for Valparaiso. In addition, Sherman Weatherspoon IV finished with 11 points and two blocks. The Beacons have lost nine straight.
