Rider gets by Saint Peter's for 7th straight win

Rider goes ahead for good with less than 10 seconds left in a 61-56 win over Saint Peter's.


LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- — Mervin James had 12 points in Rider's 61-56 win over Saint Peter's on Thursday night.

James added eight rebounds for the Broncs (15-16, 12-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Anthony McCall scored 11 points and added five rebounds. JT Langston Jr. had 10 points and shot 1 of 3 from the field and 8 for 12 from the line. It was the seventh victory in a row for the Broncs.

The Peacocks (16-12, 12-7) were led in scoring by Corey Washington, who finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and two steals. Saint Peter's also got eight points and four steals from Mouhamed Sow. Latrell Reid also recorded seven points and four assists. The loss ended a five-game winning streak for the Peacocks.
