Florida Gulf Coast rallies to beat Lipscomb 88-83

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Brandon Goodwin scored 22 points and Florida Gulf Coast rallied from an 18-point, second-half deficit to beat Lipscomb 88-83 on Thursday night to remain undefeated in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The Bisons led 66-48 with 13 minutes left when Dinero Mercurius made a 3-pointer to spark a 23-4 run to tie it at 70 with 5:52 remaining. Zach Johnson made a 3, and Goodwin scored six points during an 11-0 surge and Florida Gulf Coast led 81-70.

A 3-pointer from Matt Rose and two more from Michael Buckland pulled Lipscomb to 83-79 with 55 seconds to go before the Eagles made 6 of 8 from the line to seal it.

Johnson finished with 14 points and Mercurius had 12 for the Eagles (13-8, 4-0), who have won six straight games.

Rose, Garrison Mathews, Rob Marberry, and Kenny Cooper each scored 15 points for Lipscomb (11-8, 1-3), which has lost three straight.
