Sam Houston State runs over NAIA opponent 77-0

HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Toneil Carter ran for 106 yards and three touchdowns, Donovan Williams gained 117 yards rushing and Sam Houston State had its largest margin of victory in 70 years, defeating NAIA-member Oklahoma Panhandle State 77-0 on Saturday.

SHSU rushed for 366 yards with five players scoring rushing touchdowns. Ty Brock threw to Dewaylon Ingram for the Bearkats' only TD through the air.

The Aggies were held to 107 yards -- 113 passing and minus-6 rushing. Tony Brown was their leading rusher with 6 yards.

SHSU led 63-0 at halftime and the final score was the Bearkats' largest margin of victory since defeating Brooke Medical 83-0 in 1949.
