Dayton's offensive eruption overcomes Marist in 36-17 win

DAYTON, Ohio -- Alex Jeske threw for 300 yards and a touchdown and Tucker Yinger ran for 129 yards on 25 carries and Dayton did all its offensive damage in the first half, beating Marist 36-17 on Saturday.

Dayton (5-5, 4-3 Pioneer Football League) won for the fourth time in its last five games after sustaining a three-game losing streak.

Against Marist (3-6, 2-4), the Flyers scored on their first five drives with three touchdowns and two field goals in building a 27-0 lead in the first 16:34. Allen Waltz's third field goal of the game made it 30-0 with 3:22 to play before halftime. Waltz set a school record with five field goals, connecting from 19, 31, 30 and two from 21 yards.

Adam Trautman caught six passes for 133 yards and a touchdown and Ryan Skibinski hauled in five receptions for 107 yards.

Mike White was 34-for-62 passing for 400 yards but was intercepted three times. Juston Christian had seven receptions for 143 yards and Lawrence Dickens eight catches for 103 yards.
