Frederking leads Evansville past Kentucky Wesleyan 92-72

EVANSVILLE, Ill. -- Noah Frederking scored 19 of his career-high 26 points in the first half to lead Evansville to its first win with a 92-72 victory over Division II Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday night.

Frederking was 9 of 14 from the field and made three 3-pointers. K.J. Riley added 16 points and John Hall had a career-best 13 for Evansville (1-2) in its home opener.

Mohamed Abu Arisha had 16 points to lead Kentucky Wesleyan. Zavon Godwin added 14 points and Adam Goetz had 13.

Hall's 3-pointer sparked a 28-11 surge to give the Purple Aces a 57-39 halftime advantage. Frederking scored 11 points, Shea Feehan chipped in nine and Hall finished with six during the stretch.

Kentucky Wesleyan cut the deficit to 74-61 with 9:44 to play but didn't get closer.
