Dial leads South Alabama past Huntingdon 106-76

MOBILE, Ala. -- Abdul Dial hit 8 of his 11 shots and scored a career-high 23 points to lead six players in double figures and South Alabama rolled to a 106-76 victory over Division III-member Huntingdon on Sunday.

The Jaguars shot 54 percent in the first half from the floor (14 of 26) to take a 47-33 lead into intermission.

Jordan Andrews made 4 of 5 from 3-point range and scored 18 off the bench for the Jaguars (1-1). Trhae Mitchell scored 15 with a career-high 10 assists for his first career double-double. R.J. Kelly had 14 points and nine rebounds, while Josh Ajayi scored 12 with nine boards. Herb McGee hit three 3s and scored 11 for South Alabama.

Aaron Washington topped the Hawks with 14 points. Jacob Champion came off the bench to score 11 and Kyante Pines scored 10.

South Alabama now has won 27 straight home openers.
