North Carolina Central rallies past Norfolk State 64-63

DURHAM, N.C. -- Raasean Davis scored 13 of his 23 points in the second half including a pair of free throws in the final minute that helped North Carolina Central hold off Norfolk State 64-63 on Monday night.

Davis' free throws with 20 seconds left made it 64-59 for the Eagles (8-8, 2-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Alex Long split a pair of free throws for Norfolk State (3-13, 1-1) and Kyle Williams added a 3 in the final second.

North Carolina Central trailed 58-51 with six minutes left, but rallied with a 13-1 run capped by Davis' trip to the foul line.

Pablo Rivas added 14 points for NCCU, which led by as many as 13 in the first half before giving way to the Spartans for the greater part of the second.

Derrik Jamerson Jr. had 15 points and Williams added 11 for Norfolk State.
