Lehigh nearly blows 19-point lead, tops Holy Cross 71-67

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Jordan Cohen scored 19 points to help Lehigh hang on for a 71-67 victory over Holy Cross on Monday night after nearly blowing a 19-point lead.

Pat Andree made a 3-pointer with 9:23 left to extend Lehigh's lead to 61-42 but Holy Cross roared back to within 67-62 on Jacob Grandison's open 3-pointer from the wing that hit the rim, rolled off the top of the backboard and fell through with 2:59 to go.

Cohen hit two free throws with 8.1 seconds left to extend Lehigh's lead to 69-65, Grandison was fouled on a 3-pointer and the 65-percent free-throw shooter went 2 of 3 to make it 69-67. But Kyle Leufroy sealed it by hitting 1 of 2 free throws.

Kahron Ross added 13 points for Lehigh (9-13, 4-7 Patriot) and Leufroy had 12.

Karl Charles scored 16 points for Holy Cross (7-15, 4-7), which trailed 35-33 at halftime and dropped to 2-13 when trailing at the break.
