Harris' double-double helps Jacksonville beat USC Upstate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Devin Harris had his fourth double-double of the season and Jalyn Hinton scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting to help Jacksonville beat USC Upstate 82-70 on Saturday night to end a four-game skid.

Harris made 7 of 11 from the field and finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Jace Hogan had 18 points, Tanner Rubio scored 13 and Antwon Clayton added 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two blocks for Jacksonville (13-17, 7-6 Atlantic Sun).

Hinton had dunks to open and close a 13-0 run that made it 29-17 before the Dolphins took an eight-point lead into the break. Rubio made a 3 and then a jumper to make it 41-29 about two minutes into the second half. Deion Holmes hit a 3-pointer to pull USC Upstate (7-23, 2-11) within seven points with 1:51 to play, but Hinton answered with a dunk and the Spartans got no closer.

Holmes had 28 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including five 3-pointers, for Upstate. The junior has scored in double figures in each of his last 10 games, and is averaging 23.1 points over that span.
