Harris leads Morehead State to 74-55 win over Tennessee Tech

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Lamontray Harris posted his fourth-straight double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds and Morehead State clamped down on Tennessee Tech in the second half to post a 74-55 Ohio Valley Conference victory on Saturday afternoon.

With the Eagles up by two, 18-16, with 5:33 left in the first half, Harris knocked down a jumper to ignite a 10-0 run and they went on to lead by as many as 13 points twice before halftime.

The Morehead State defense held Tennessee Tech to just 20 of 56 shooting from the field, including 7 of 27 from beyond the three-point arc and the Eagles held a decisive 46-24 advantage on the boards.

Malek Green contributed 13 points and grabbed eight boards for Morehead State (6-13, 2-6).

Curtis Phillips Jr. scored 18 points to lead Tennessee Tech (13-8, 5-3). Courtney Alexander II contributed 10 points. The Golden Eagles entered the game tied with Jacksonville State, Murray State and Austin Peay for second place.
