Landale leads Saint Mary's to 81-57 win over Santa Clara

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Jock Landale had 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks to help Saint Mary's beat Santa Clara 81-57 on Thursday night for its 11th win in a row.

It was the 11th double-double of the season for Landale, who made 8 of 12 from the field. Calvin Hermanson scored 14 points, Tanner Krebs 11 and Emmett Naar added eight points and 11 assists for Saint Mary's (16-2, 5-0 West Coast Conference).

Hermanson hit a 3-pointer and Krebs added two more during a 13-2 run that made it 15-6 and the Gaels led the rest of the way. Landale converted a 3-point play to give Saint Mary's a 12-point halftime lead and Evan Fitzner scored five points during a 12-0 spurt that made it 55-33 with 12 minutes to go.

KJ Feagin led Santa Clara (6-11, 3-2) with 19 points and Henry Caruso scored 11.

Saint Mary's made 32 of 58 (55.2 percent) from the field, including 9 of 18 from 3-point range, and had 24 assists.
