Lens come from behind to rescue draw against PSV

Lens forward Elye Wahi cancelled out Johan Bakayoko's opener for PSV Eindhoven to salvage a home 1-1 draw in Champions League Group B on Tuesday.

Lens, the 2022-23 Ligue 1 runners-up, are second in the group standings on five points from three games, one point behind leaders Arsenal who beat Sevilla 2-1 in the other group fixture.

PSV, who rescued a 2-2 draw at home against the Spanish side after losing 4-0 in London on the opening night, remain bottom on two points.

Both teams started cautiously and fans saw little action in the first half, where PSV winger Hirving Lozano hit the post from outside the box before the half-hour mark.

Belgium forward Bakayoko gave PSV the lead after the break with a stunning finish from distance before Wahi levelled for the hosts with a volley from close range in the 65th minute.

Lens, who are in the Champions League group stage for the third time and first since 2002-03, have never reached the knockout rounds.
