Romario Williams, Darren Mattocks on target as Jamaica beats Curacao
Jamaica overcame a stauch Curacao outfit to win their CONCACAF Gold Cup opener 2-0 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego on Sunday.
Remko Bicentini's side offered up an excellent resistance in the first half, keeping the favourites goalless for 45 minutes.
Romario Williams, however, finally broke through for the Reggae Boyz in the 59th minute -- firing his shot into the top left corner of the net from a Je-Vaughn Watson assist.
Darren Mattocks doubled Jamaica's advantage 15 minutes later, expertly controlling Kemar Lawrence's cross before firing a powerful left-foot drive past Curacao's despairing keeper.
