Amill, Simpson lead Lafayette over Fordham 21-13

NEW YORK -- C.J. Amill and Selwyn Simpson combined to rush for 245 yards and three touchdowns and Lafayette held Fordham to minus-20 yards on the ground in a 21-13 victory on Saturday.

Tim DeMorat staked Fordham to a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter when he connected with Isaiah Searight for an 8-yard score. The Leopards (3-5, 2-2 Patriot League) pulled even on Simpson's 38-yard TD run.

DeMorat put the Rams (1-7, 1-2) back on top with a 4-yard TD toss to Austin Longi. A 2-point conversion run was stuffed leaving Fordham with a 13-7 lead. Lafayette grabbed a 14-13 halftime lead on Amill's 31-yard run with 40 seconds left in the second quarter.

Simpson's 1-yard plunge at 8:26 in the third quarter was the only score of the second half. Amill finished with 133 yards on 25 carries, while Simpson tallied 112 yards on 12 totes.

DeMorat completed 15 of 32 passes for 142 yards with two interceptions.
