Orlando 4-3 NY Red Bulls: Lions win it late - Via MLS

Scott Sutter's deflected strike helped Orlando City earn their first win of the season, as the Lions outlasted New York in a seven-goal thriller.

Scott Sutter's late goal gave Orlando City a 4-3 win over the New York Red Bulls in a back-and-forth affair on Saturday.

The Red Bulls led twice in the first half before Dom Dwyer scored twice to put the hosts ahead, and after Aaron Long equalized for New York in the 82nd minute, Sutter found the winner four minutes later.

Orlando earned its first win of the season after a draw and two defeats to open the year, while the Red Bulls have now won two and lost two.

Florian Valot headed in a Alejandro Romero Gamarra for his first MLS goal to put the Red Bulls ahead in the seventh minute, but Orlando responded eight minutes later as Will Johnson tapped home after a well-worked team move.

Derrick Etienne restored New York's lead in the 24th minute after being played through by Valot, but it took Dwyer less than two minutes to equalize with a header following a corner.

Dwyer then pushed Orlando in front three minutes after halftime with his first touch after a long throw-in into the box.

The Red Bulls, already playing with a depleted lineup ahead of this week's CONCACAF Champions League semifinal at Chivas, finished the game with 10 men after Kyle Duncan pulled up with an injury after all three substitutions had been made. But they were still able to level the score when Long headed in Marc Rzatkowski's cross from a set piece.

However, Sutter had the last word as his shot from about 30 yards took a major deflection and found the net in the 86th minute.
