Mason Mount scored in the opening minute to help England beat Bulgaria 2-0 in their opener of the European Under-19 Championship in Georgia on Monday.

Ryan Sessegnon doubled the lead early in the second half as England saw out the win to earn three points in Group B.

It only took Mount 39 seconds to net the opener as the Chelsea man connected with a cross from Dujon Sterling.

Mount then helped preserve the lead five minutes later when he was needed to clear Petko Hristov's header off the line.

Sessegnon, who signed a new deal with Fulham last week, added England's second four minutes after the break as he ran in on goal to beat Dimitar Sheytanov.

England next play on Thursday against Netherlands, who used a Joel Piroe hat trick to thrash Germany 4-1 later on Monday.
