Cent. Arkansas 82, Jacksonville St. 68

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Durrell Nevels and Brian Marks each posted double-doubles Saturday to help lead Central Arkansas to an 82-68 victory over Jacksonville State.

The Bears (7-1) pulled out to a 19-point lead late in the first half, establishing a deficit the Gamecocks (2-5) were not able to overcome.

Nevels scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Marks pulled in 17 boards to go along with 10 points. Marcus Pillow and Nate Bowie led five Bears in double-digit scoring with 18 points each and York Sims added 16 points.

The Gamecocks were led by Dorien Brown and Erik Adams, who each scored 14 points, while junior DeAndre Bray added 11 points and eight assists.

Jacksonville State stormed back in the second half to cut the lead to three, but UCA pulled away again. The Bears shot 42 percent, 40 from 3-point range, while the Gamecocks ended up with a 40 percent field goal percentage on the night.
