Tennessee forward Lou Brown tears ACL in practice

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee forward Lou Brown suffered a torn ACL in preseason practice, coach Holly Warlick announced Friday.

Brown, a graduate transfer from Washington State, is out indefinitely after suffering the injury Wednesday.

"While she may be out of action due to this unfortunate injury, I would not be surprised to see Lou still find a way to impact this team in a positive manner as she goes through the recovery process," Warlick said in a statement.

Brown, a 6-foot-3 forward from Melbourne, Australia, started 23 games for Washington State last season and averaged 6.4 points and a team-high 6 rebounds.

Tennessee opens the 2018-19 season Nov. 11 against Presbyterian. The Lady Vols were 25-8 and reached the second round of the NCAA tournament last season.
