Baylor dismisses Alexis Morris for violation of team rules

Baylor dismissed sophomore guard Alexis Morris from its women's basketball team Tuesday for a violation of team rules.

The school didn't specify the nature of Morris' rules violation.

As a freshman, Morris averaged 9.1 points, 3.4 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 32 games (eight starts). She shot a team-best 45 percent from 3-point range (28-for-62) and averaged 26.4 minutes per game, fifth on the team.

Baylor, which was No. 2 in the nation in the final AP women's poll and a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament, advanced to the Elite Eight before losing to Oregon State 72-67 and finishing the season 33-2.
