They're the fallen giants of the Supercars championship, but Saturday was a memorable one for Tickford Racing.
After a season of struggle, Chaz Mostert and James Moffat combined to deliver the Ford team their first win of the season on the streets of Surfers Paradise.
The victory couldn't have come at a better time for the former factory-backed outfit, who've had to watch from the wings as DJR Team Penske have eclipsed them as the Blue Oval's pre-eminent team.
With Mark Winterbottom and Dean Canto coming seventh and Cameron Waters and David Russell finishing eighth, Tickford ended the day with three pairings inside the top 10.
"We're obviously ecstatic," team principal Tim Edwards said.
"It's well-documented that this has been a challenging season for us, so it's tremendous to get a win out of it.
"Three cars in the top 10 is excellent. It's a credit to the team who have worked through a pretty horrid year and gotten us here."
Holden veteran James Courtney also celebrated a rare moment of success in 2018 in Saturday's race.
The former drivers' champion celebrated his 400th Supercars race start by finishing third.
Courtney says the result was a reward for his improving form in recent events.
"Jack (Perkins, co-driver) and I were talking before the event and said it would be pretty special to get a podium in my 400th race, so it's fantastic," Courtney said.
"Great job by all the team today, finally a reward for all the speed we've shown over the last few months."
