Anastasija Sevastova has won the BRD Bucharest Open to claim the third WTA singles title of her career.

The Latvian No. 1 seed defeated Petra Martic of Croatia 7-6 (4), 6-2, firing 30 winners overall to wrap up a straight sets victory in 93 minutes.

It was a case of missed opportunities for Martic who broke three times in a row during a nervous first set.

Martic -- currently ranked 43 in the world -- had the chance to win it but was again pegged back by Sevastova at 5-4 and then fell in the tie-break as her opponent lashed down a forehand that she could only flop into the net.

Sevastova took control in the second, breaking Martic -- who was beginning to tire -- to love in her second service game.

And Sevastova all but confirmed victory with another break after a powerful backhand winner to make it 5-2.

The Latvian fired down two aces as she confidently served out the match and she finally finished off Martic with a powerful forehand winner to bring home her first title in 13 months.
