DeMarcus Cousins mistaken for Kirk Cousins in newspaper misprint

NBA, NFL, Washington Redskins, New Orleans Pelicans

New Orleans Pelicans big man DeMarcus Cousins was ejected when facing the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, after inadvertently elbowing Russell Westbrook in the face.

Since it was a play that involved two of the NBA's biggest stars, one newspaper made it a point of emphasis to mention the flagrant foul that got Cousins tossed.

But there was only one problem: They listed the wrong Cousins -- Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins. It sparked a funny reaction from the 29-year-old signal-caller.

This comes two days after the Redskins blew a 15-point lead late in the fourth quarter against the New Orleans Saints, suffering a crushing 34-31 loss in overtime.

Kirk fought hard in that game (no pun intended), throwing for 322 yards and three touchdowns. But the Redskins came up short in the final moments.

With Kirk and DeMarcus both unsure of what the future holds with their respective franchises, this Dupont Circle account took things a step further by asking fans which of the two is more likely to be in the nation's capital in 2019.

Not the start to this week that Kirk envisioned. But he'll have to refocus himself for Thanksgiving night, as the Redskins will be hosting the New York Giants at FedEx Field.
