Give Iowa's band a hand for wave to children's hospital

College Football, Iowa Hawkeyes

This season, the Iowa Hawkeyes have produced what is sure to become one of the best traditions in college football: the hospital wave.

A grassroots movement helped bring Iowa fans together by having them wave in unison to the children's hospital adjacent to Kinnick Stadium at the end of the first quarter. On Saturday, during the Hawkeyes' game against Illinois, the school's marching band got involved in the new tradition too.

The band formed a hand, moving side-to-side, to wave at the children at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Between the fans and the marching band, Iowa is giving new meaning to the wave tradition.
