Who had the best sneakers of Week 15 in the NBA?

NBA

Around the NBA this past week, players paired rare limited-edition sneakers with several of the league's new "City Edition" uniforms, while stars such as Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry debuted new takes on their signature shoes.

Still early in his partnership with Adidas, rising Bulls wing Zach LaVine broke out a limited "Year of the Snake" colorway of Tracy McGrady's TMac 1 sneaker. LaVine paired the retro of the Hall of Famer's first Adidas shoe with the Bulls' new Chicago flag-inspired City Edition uniforms, offering up a rare chance to go outside of the team's classic red color palette.

In Miami, guard Josh Richardson unboxed a pair of Nike LeBron 11s that released during LeBron James' prior run with the Heat, linking the gaudy "South Beach" model with the team's instant-classic Miami Vice-inspired teal-and-pink jerseys. While the Portland Trail Blazers are known for their "Rip City" moniker, Rockets forward PJ Tucker's latest exclusive sneaker sighting honored the player, not team, most known for the nickname. The Air Jordan Retro 2 featuring "Rip City" stitched into the collar was originally made for Detroit Pistons wing Rip Hamilton more than a decade ago, and with only a dozen or so pairs made, has been priced as high as $4,000.

After returning to the Bay Area for a homestand, the Warriors' Stephen Curry had a tribute of his own in store earlier in the week. His pair of simple white-and-black Curry 1 shoes honored his daughters Ryan and Riley, highlighted by a printed picture of the two on the sides of each shoe. Designed by Curry himself on Under Armour's new "UA Icon" customization website at the start of the season, the All-Star captain simply uploaded a photo of his girls onto a blank slate of his very first shoe, eventually wearing the shoe in pregame warm-ups at Oracle Arena.

"I had those in my closet for awhile," Curry told reporters after the game. "I just walked by 'em today and was like, 'All right, let me go back and rock the Curry 1s with my daughters on the side to give me a little inspiration.' It's nice being home."
