Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson awards scholarships to four walk-ons

As the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets ready for their season opener against Tennessee on Sept. 4, head coach Paul Johnson continues to prepare his team to make some noise in the ACC. As part of his preparations every year, Johnson awards scholarships to deserving walk-on players.

Entering the 2017 season, Johnson was able to offer four walk-ons -- junior QB Chase Martenson, junior DB Zach Matthews, junior DB Josh Selembo and senior RB Brady Swilling -- a scholarship to reach the team's total of 85.

As the room congratulated the four players, Johnson explained how hard work and dedication to the program can help other walk-ons earn playing time and a scholarship.
