Stars from four different sports congratulate Justin Thomas following PGA Championship win

Congratulations came pouring from all corners of social media on Sunday following Justin Thomas' PGA Championship win at Quail Hollow. It was the first major victory for the 24-year-old from Louisville, Kentucky.

Tiger Woods, who has won the tournament four times during his illustrious career, was among other professional golfers who offered praise to Thomas on Twitter.

Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala also acknowledged Thomas after he closed with a 3-under 68 to win by two shots at the Charlotte, North Carolina, course.

Thomas' alma mater of Alabama expressed pride on Twitter, including a personal message from the university's athletic director, Greg Byrne. Acknowledgement of Thomas' accomplishment wasn't just limited to the sports world, either, as pop star Niall Horan of One Direction relayed the news to his more than 32 million followers.

Thomas now has five PGA Tour wins -- four of which have come this season -- to his name since joining the professional ranks in 2013.
