How did our experts fare picking Costa Rica vs. Serbia, Germany vs. Mexico, Brazil vs. Switzerland

We're already onto day four of the World Cup -- the games are flying by!

ESPN Mexico's Ricardo Puig dominated the predictions table on Saturday, correctly picking the result in both Denmark's 1-0 win over Peru and Croatia's 2-0 Group D victory against Nigeria. Ricardo finished the day on a whopping 70 points, 20 clear of ESPN Deportes' Manu Martin in second place.

On Sunday it's the turn of the much-fancied Germany and Mexico to make their debuts in Russia.

But first up it's Costa Rica and Serbia who go head to head. It's fair to say there's no consensus between our pundits on this one, as three people go for Costa Rica, three for Serbia and the remaining four back the draw. Let's hope Raph Honigstein and Leonardo Bertozzi are not correct with their 0-0 selections.

Germany are up next and they face what could be a tough test against Mexico. Germany correspondent Raph believes his team will win 2-0, but only one of our three ESPN Mexico pundits think their side will lose. Poncho Vera and Javier Trejo Garay go for draws, though Marcelino Hernandez expects a 3-1 defeat.

The final game of the day sees Brazil meet Switzerland. Can the Swiss stop Neymar and Co.? If you believe our pundits, it's a big, fat 'no'! Every single one goes for a Brazil win, and scoring a minimum of two goals too. Leonardo, from ESPN Brasil, has a scoreline of 2-0 noted down.

Remember to join the pundits' league in Match Predictor -- we've got our top talent on hand from England, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Australia and Africa, many of whom will be based out in Russia for the tournament, to analyse each and every one of the 64 matches.

We'll score our experts just as we do in the Match Predictor -- 10 points for correct result, with a bonus 20 points for getting the scoreline right too. Who will come out on top on Sunday?

Update: Sunday was characterised by massive upsets and due to that it was a tough day for our experts in terms of picks. None of our 10 experts had Mexico defeating world champions Germany or Switzerland earning a draw with favourites Brazil.

In all our experts only got 3/30 predictions correct, with Steve Nicol, Javier Trejo Garay and Marcelino Hernandez all correctly predicting a win for Serbia vs. Costa Rica. Steve Nicol is our winner today as not only did the former Liverpool man predict a Serbia win, he nailed the 1-0 exact scoreline prediction and picks up an additional bonus 20 points.

It was a tough day for our experts but with Germany and Brazil both shockingly failing to win, we will cut them a bit of slack. Expect better tomorrow with Sweden vs. South Korea, Belgium vs. Panama and England vs. Tunisia on the dockett.
