Audacious Tanzanian goalkeeper pays price in street cup final

The following action is from a recent Tanzanian street football tournament, the Ndondo Cup, and specifically the second half of the final between FC Misosi and Goms United.

Protecting a precarious 1-0 lead as the match entered the final 20 minutes, the Goms United goalkeeper resorted to gamesmanship in order to eat up a few precious seconds.

After making a tidy save from a freekick, he decided to bait the Mimosi striker by leaving it until the last possible moment to pick the ball up.

Unfortunately, the Goms keeper quickly discovered that his reaction speed was ever so slightly slower than that of his wily opponent.

After pinching an equaliser, Mimosi went on to compound the stopper's misery by sealing victory in the ensuing penalty shoot-out.

We're fairly certain there's a valuable lesson in there somewhere.
