Wolves complete John Kitolano signing

Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed John Kitolano from Odds Ballklubb in a deadline-day deal, the Premier League new boys confirmed on Thursday.

The Congolese-Norwegian youngster joins the club on a three-year deal according to a statement on the club's website, and will join Wolves' U-23 squad.

Kitolano, an 18-year-old left-back, made his debut in the Norwegian top flight at 16, and has featured for Odd in the Eliteserien and the Europa League.

The youngster, who has represented Norway at youth level, was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and moved to Europe as a child.

"John is a young player who we have admired since he made his professional debut at the age of 16," said Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwall.

"Since the club's promotion to the Premier League, it will therefore be an even bigger task to bring young players through from the academy and into the first team.

"John is a player who we feel has that potential and I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses in the coming months."

Kitolano is the latest addition to Wolves during an intense preseason recruitment drive by the Old Gold.

On Wednesday, they signed Adama Traore from Middlesbrough, with the wideman joining high-profile arrivals such as Rui Patricio, Leander Dendoncker, Joao Moutinho, Diego Jota and Willy Boly at Molineux.
