Real Madrid Castilla loan keeper Carlos Abad-Hernandez from Tenerife

Real Madrid Castilla have signed Spanish goalkeeper Carlos Abad-Hernandez on loan from CD Tenerife for the next two seasons.

Abad-Hernandez will work under coach Zinedine Zidane with Real's B side and play in Spain's Segunda Division B this season.

The 20-year-old, who has drawn comparisons with former Real keeper Iker Casillas, was promoted to Tenerife's first team last season, making nine appearances in the Segunda Division as Roberto's understudy.

Real have reportedly been monitoring the Tenerife-born keeper since last summer.

A statement on Tenerife's official website read: "CD Tenerife and Real Madrid have reached an agreement to loan Carlos Abad-Hernandez to Real Madrid Castilla for the next two seasons."

Abad-Hernandez signed a three-year contract extension with Tenerife on Friday that ties him to the club until June 2020.

However, AS reports that Los Blancos have an option to acquire the player on a permanent transfer after the 2016-17 campaign.

Castilla kicked off their preseason with a 4-1 triumph over Trival Valderas on Wednesday in Madrid.
