Nigeria international and Everton forward Henry Onyekuru has completed a season-long loan move to Turkish champions Galatasaray.

The Istanbul giants confirmed on Monday that talks were ongoing between the two clubs, and on Thursday, Galatasaray confirmed on their Twitter handle that a deal had been reached.

"Galatasaray are glad to make the signing of Henry Onyekuru official! Nigerian 21-year-old winger is joining us from Everton on loan. Welcome, Henry Onyekuru," the tweet read.

For a second successive year, the 21-year-old failed to qualify for a work permit to play in the English Premier League.

The move means Onyekuru will play outside of Belgium for the first time since 2015.

The loan deal to Galatasaray sees Onyekuru follow in the footstep of former Nigeria international Dominic Iorfa, who turned out for the club in the early 90's.

Several other Nigerians, including Austin "Jay-Jay" Okocha, Uche Okechukwu, and Emmanuel Emenike enjoyed success in Turkey.
