Manchester United's Luke Shaw could return for Champions League tie - sources

Luke Shaw is in line to return to the Manchester United squad for the Champions League tie against Young Boys following a concussion, sources have told ESPN FC.

Defender Shaw returned to Carrington on Monday after being forced off with a head injury during England's defeat to Spain on Saturday.

The 23-year-old has not yet returned to full training and is set to miss the trip to Watford on Saturday, but after being assessed by United's medical staff there is hope that he could return for the Champions League opener in Switzerland on Wednesday.

Under rules introduced at the start of the 2014-15 season, players are not allowed to return to competitive action for at least six days after suffering a concussion.

Left-back Shaw is likely to be replaced in Jose Mourinho's squad for the Premier League game against Watford by Diogo Dalot, who is fit again after knee surgery.

The 19-year-old, a summer signing from Porto, played 70 minutes for the under-23s against Stoke on Aug. 31 and trained with the first team this week.

Marcos Rojo is also nearing a return but a source has told ESPN FC it is "doubtful" that the Argentina international will see his first action of the season when the U23s face Reading at Old Trafford on Friday.

Meanwhile, sources have told ESPN FC that Marouane Fellaini could be included in the squad to face Watford despite withdrawing from the Belgium squad.

The 30-year-old midfielder has a minor back injury but could feature at Vicarage Road after his Man of the Match performance in the 2-0 win over Burnley prior to the international break.
