Germany stunned by Slovakia; Spain ease to victory; Italy stifle Scotland

Slovakia shocked World Cup winners Germany with an impressive 3-1 win in a rain-swept Augsburg on Sunday evening.

Mario Gomez gave the hosts the lead from the penalty spot after Juraj Kucka fouled Mario Gotze, but Slovakia captain Marek Hamsik and Michal Duris turned the friendly on its head with two goals in three minutes before the heavens opened at half-time.

A delay to the start of the second half, caused by the weather, did not knock the Slovakians out of their stride and Kucka added a third, with the ball squirming through the legs of substitute goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, to give Germany coach Joachim Low plenty to ponder.

Nolito staked a strong claim for a place at Euro 2016 squad as he scored twice to help Spain down Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-1 in Switzerland.

He struck twice inside the opening 18 minutes, with Emir Spahic halving the deficit on the half-hour mark before being dismissed for violent conduct before the break.

Chelsea's Pedro secured the victory with a close-range goal deep into second-half stoppage-time.

Scotland failed to register a shot on target as they fell to a 1-0 friendly defeat against Italy in Malta.

Southampton striker Graziano Pelle notched the only goal early in the second half but Scotland would have been on the end of a heavier defeat if Emmanuele Giaccherini had shown more composure when presented with several clear chances.

Scotland took almost 78 minutes to produce their one and only effort at goal, Matt Ritchie shooting wide from 18 yards.

Italy had not won in four matches but they were a class apart from Gordon Strachan's side in their penultimate warm-up for a European Championship campaign that sees them pitted against the Republic of Ireland, Belgium and Sweden.

Brazil managed a 2-0 win over Panama, as Dunga continued the Selecao's preparations for the upcoming Copa America.

In what was the final chance for fringe players to stake a claim for their opener on June 4 against Ecuador, Brazil dominated proceedings from start to finish.

A second-minute goal by Jonas threatened to open the floodgates, but there were no further goals until the 73rd minute, when Santos' 19-year-old teenager Gabriel scored a debut goal to cap off a comfortable victory for the South American giants.

Two second-half goals in seven minutes from Raphael Guerreiro and Eder helped Portugal to a 3-0 win over Norway.

Ricardo Quaresma put the Portuguese ahead with a spectacular dipping shot in the 13th. Missing Cristiano Ronaldo, who played in the Champions League final the previous day, Quaresma was Portugal's standout player.

Portugal gave a composed performance and was mostly in control of the match, though Valon Berisha headed against the woodwork for Norway in the 57th and the Portuguese left it late to seal their victory.

Macedonia notched up a 3-1 win over Azerbaijan in Austria.

They took the lead after 19 minutes when Marjan Radeski shot low into the corner and doubled the advantage before the break thanks to Goran Pandev, who took advantage of some slack defending by Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan halved the deficit from the penalty spot through Afran Ismayilov after a handball, but Macedonia wrapped up the win when Ilija Nestorovski tapped home in the last minute.

Roman Zozulya, Alexander Zinchenko, Yevhen Konoplyanka and Andriy Yarmolenko all scored within the first hour as Ukraine edged Romania 4-3 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Gabriel Torje, Denis Alibec and Nicolae Stanciu netted the consolation goals for hosts.

Mehmet Topal struck in second-half stoppage time to give Turkey a 1-0 win over Montenegro at the Antalya Stadium.

From a set piece, Topal headed home Arda Turan's cross deep into injury time to give the hosts a last-gasp victory.

Albania also won 3-1, defeating Qatar despite falling behind in the opening minute.

Abdelkarim Hassan scored after Rodrigo Tabata had set him up, but Albania were soon level when Arlind Ajeti fired an effort into the top corner from an angle and led when Ermir Lenjani struck before the break.

And they added a third thanks to Armando Sadiku, who beat the goalkeeper with an effort from outside the area.

Lithuania defeated Estonia 2-0, never looking back after Nerijus Valskis put them in front after 28 minutes.

Fedor Cernych added a second when he finished off a neat move on the stroke of half-time.
