Dylan Kerr wants big Gor Mahia win vs. SuperSport United

Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has called on his players to go all out to secure a comfortable win against SuperSport United in their CAF Confederation Cup playoff first leg on Sunday.

Gor largely held their own against Esperance in their CAF Champions League First Round clash, but after holding the Tunisian giants 0-0 at home, were defeated 1-0 in North Africa.

Kerr is keen to avoid a repeat and another near miss.

"We should not get ourselves in the same problem we had when we drew goalless against Esperance in the Champions League and lost 1-0 away," he told KweséESPN. "We must make sure we push for a comfortable win at home"

They face a SuperSport side who reached the final of last year's competition, but have struggled domestically this term and parted ways with coach Eric Tinkler last month.

"I don't know so much about the SuperSport United team, but I believe they are strong and they have proved that over the year," Kerr added. "We shall play according to our plans and we need to do the work in the first leg before thinking of the away game.

"We are creating so many scoring chances, but not taking them," he added. "This must stop because it has caused us issues at the end."

Skipper Haron Shakava believes a strong start is imperative if Gor are going to progress to the 16-team group stage.

"We need to go all out and try to get early goals to kill off the SuperSport United team," he told KweséESPN.

K'Oaglo will be without Uganda international Godfrey Walusimbi who is at odds with the club due to a contractual disagreement.

Walusimbi, who was part of Uganda's team at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, has not rejoined the team since departing with the Cranes during the recent international break.
