Transfer Talk: Manchester United's Marcus Rashford open to Real Madrid offers

With the winter window opening soon, the rumour mill is beginning to gather pace. Who will be moving where come January? Transfer Talk has the latest.

Top Story: Rashford to listen to Real offer

Marcus Rashford is prepared to hear Real Madrid out should the Spanish giants actually go ahead with their rumoured plan to submit an offer for the Manchester United youngster.

Frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities at Old Trafford, Rashford, who is also drawing interest from Juventus, is reportedly willing to at least listen to any offer Real have for him, says the Sun.

Indeed, the 21-year-old forward is "very much open" to making the switch should he fail to nail down a place in Jose Mourinho's starting XI.

Rashford has started five of United's 12 Premier League games this season, and is not the only member of the club's front line who is said to be peeved by his manager's constant rotation.

Sensing a potential schism, Madrid have made contact with the England striker's representatives to let them know they are deadly serious about taking him to the Bernabeu should the opportunity arise.

LIVE BLOG

23.21 GMT: That's going to do it for Thursday's live edition of Transfer Talk. Thanks very much for joining us, and be sure to check back in a few short hours when we return with the latest headlines pulled from the back pages of Friday's papers.

22.35 GMT: Liverpool have announced that Sadio Mane has agreed terms on a new long-term contract, with sources telling ESPN FC that the new deal runs until 2023. Read the full story.

21.19 GMT: With both of Leeds United's first two goalkeepers suffering long-term injuries, the Championship club are in the market for a shot stopper, and talkSPORT reports that Burnley No. 3 and former England international Tom Heaton would be interested in moving to Elland Road in search for minutes.

20.03 GMT: With Liverpool and Barcelona monitoring the situation of Adrien Rabiot, whose contract expires in the summer and whom Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in offloading in January to avoid losing him for nothing at season's end, will be disappointed to know that Calciomercato is reporting that Juventus is the sole club willing to offer a fee that would satisfy the Parisian club. The report also states that Roma have joined the chase for the 23-year-old midfielder.

18.47 GMT: Sevilla intend to take up the option they have on on-loan AC Milan forward Andre Silva, with FourFourTwo citing sporting director Joaquin Caparros as telling Sevilla's website:

"Sevilla fans have to be calm, because he is a player that we have tied down well. The player will stay with us on a contract for many seasons. We have all the rights, the option to keep him. Milan can say what they want, they and other clubs will want him, but we are aware that at the end of the season, or before, we will use that right [to purchase him]."

The outlet claims that it's been reported that Silva has already agreed a four-year contract with the Liga club, which he will sign after they activate his €35m purchase option.

17.31 GMT: With Diego Godin's Atletico Madrid contract expiring in the summer, Corriere dello Sport reports that AC Milan has put in motion a plan to sign the 32-year-old centre-back on a free transfer after the season. Manchester United have also long been linked with the Uruguayan.

16.15 GMT: BILD write that Crystal Palace and West Ham are interested in signing Bayern Munich striker Sandro Wagner.

However, they face stiff competition from Bundesliga clubs and Galatasaray, while there is also uncertainty that Wagner even wants to leave the Allianz Arena.

15.45 GMT: With Sadio Mane stalling over a new deal at Liverpool, ESPN FC's David Usher discusses whether he would be missed at Anfield should he leave the club.

15.15 GMT: The Manchester Evening News explain that Chris Smalling's new contract is likely part of Jose Mourinho's long-term plan to not get rid of any players unless they ask to leave.

Fringe players such as Matteo Darmian are still on the books at Old Trafford, but this is because they have not forced a move away and Mourinho still says he enjoys working with the current squad.

14.55 GMT: After some reported scares about his fitness levels, the Evening Standard report West Ham expect to complete the free signing of Samir Nasri once the January transfer window opens.

Nasri has been serving an 18-month doping ban, but has been training with West Ham this month and looks set to sign a contract at London Stadium.

14.35 GMT: A source has told ESPN FC that Inter Milan could appoint former Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta after they play Tottenham next week.

Marotta was behind many of Juventus' moves for out-of-contract players in recent years, including Paul Pogba and Sami Khedira, and looks set to join up with Inter at the San Siro.

14.15 GMT: Staying with Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking about a possible new contract for Christian Eriksen.

"The club's working to try to take the best decisions," he said. "Christian is going to take I think the decision that is best for him. We're not worried. But I prefer that he's going to sign the new contract and spend a long time with Tottenham."

13.55 GMT: Fernando Llorente's time at Tottenham has been pretty forgettable, and sources close to the club have told ESPN FC they have not ruled out the striker leaving in the January window.

However, sources close to the player have rubbished rumours linking him with a move to Leeds United, and it is more likely that Llorente will leave in the summer when his contract expires.

13.50 GMT: The good news keeps on rolling for Watford.

After Adalberto Penaranda was finally granted a work permit to play for the club, Sky Sports News are now reporting that Javi Gracia will sign a new contract next week after their impressive start to the season.

13.25 GMT: After returning to the France squad last week, Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho is now lining up a return to Champions League football.

Sakho said, as reported by the Evening Standard, that he would like to play at the highest level possible and has not ruled out playing in the Champions League again.

13.10 GMT: RMC report that Chelsea have been looking at Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, just days after Liverpool were linked with the France international.

His midfield partner Tanguy Ndombele is also reportedly on Barcelona's radar.

12.50 GMT: A look at today's Football Whispers, featurning Adrien Rabiot to Barcelona and Nikola Milenkovic to Manchester United...

12.30 GMT: Senegal forward Keita Balde has not impressed at Inter since arriving on loan from Monaco in the summer, and TuttoMercatoWeb write that he could cut short his spell at the San Siro and head to Wolves.

The major stumbling block is UEFA do not permit players to appear for more than two clubs in a season, and Balde played in the French Super Cup for Monaco before departing for Serie A.

12.05 GMT: Many happy returns to Chris Smalling, who turns 29 today (and we are absolutely sure he is reading this), but the good news does not stop there for the defender.

Sky Sports News report that Manchester United have opened talks with him regarding a new contract, with his current deal up at the end of the season.

11.55 GMT: Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has said he will make an early move in the January window after they missed out on signing Tammy Abraham with a late bid in August, eyeing a  left-back, a midfielder and a striker.

"We need to try and get a move on so we've got one or two in straight away in January, rather than the last minute again," he said.

11.45 GMT: While Tottenham are still feeling the impact of not signing a player in the summer window, they are reportedly set to sell two fringe players in January.

Fernando Llorente could leave for £4 million and is wanted by Leeds, according to The Sun, while Georges-Kevin Nkoudou could return to Ligue 1 after having moves away blocked by Daniel Levy in the past, France Football say.

11.20 GMT: The Bundesliga leaders are chasing one of the Bundesliga's in-form players, according to BILD via HLN.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach and Belgium winger Thorgan Hazard, who has scored 10 goals and grabbed four assists at club level so far this season.

11.00 GMT: Egypt boss Javier Aguirre has said that it would be better for Mohamed Salah to leave Liverpool if they do not start winning trophies.

Salah recently became the fastest player to score 50 goals for the club, but his national team manager has said his future could lie away from Anfield.

10.50 GMT: Mundo Deportivo say that Barcelona's pursuit of Adrien Rabiot could be stepped up in the January window as Paris Saint-Germain aim to earn a fee for him rather than losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Tottenham and Juventus have also been linked with a move for the midfielder.

10.30 GMT: The agent of Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has told ESPN FC that it would be hard for his client to leave Anfield in the January window.

Mignolet wanted to leave the club in the summer, but was not allowed to leave following the departures of Loris Karius and Danny Ward, and Nico Vaesen said an exit this season is unlikely.

"We have to be realistic," he said. "There are not many good possible transfers in January, especially not for a goalkeeper."

10.15 GMT: Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis teased that Edinson Cavani could return to the club last summer, and he has been talking with Corriere dello Sport about the Paris Saint-Germain striker again.

"If he gets sick of Paris and decides to earn less, we'd welcome him with open arms," he said. "If at the end of the season, Ancelotti wants him and PSG, so as not to waste a year's salary on him, give him to us on a free loan and then sell him to us for a symbolic price, and if he's happy with six or seven million a year, then it's something we could do."

09.45 GMT: With Danny Welbeck set for a spell on the sidelines with a serious ankle injury, Arsenal could strengthen their attacking options in January, and Calciomercato write that they are seriously pursuing Roma winger Cengiz Under.

The 21-year-old has scored 11 goals in 42 games in all competitions since moving to the Stadio Olimpico, and played a major part in Roma's run to the semifinals of last season's Champions League.

09.15 GMT: Juventus are eyeing a move for a Premier League central midfielder, but this time it is not Paul Pogba, but Wolves' Ruben Neves, according to Football Italia.

Neves has also been linked with Manchester City, but Juve could jump ahead of them in the race for the midfielder.

08.45 GMT: Another day of transfer rumours is upon us with just 40 days and 40 nights until the winter window opens. Stick with us.

Chelsea scout 'frustrated' Skriniar

Chelsea will send scouts to suss out Milan Skriniar next week as the Premier League side weigh up a £70 million raid for the Inter Milan centre-back, according to the Express.

With Inter due to play Tottenham at Wembley in the Champions League, the Blues are planning to run the rule over Skriniar, who has impressed with a string of rock-solid performances for the Nerazzurri so far this season.

The report claims that the 23-year-old is growing "increasingly frustrated" with his lot at the Serie A club, which he feels is falling short in its efforts to match both his ambitions and his salary demands.

The door may be slightly ajar for the Blues to make their move, but it's said that it may well take a hefty bid to pip fellow suitors Manchester United to the punch.

Llorente in shock Championship move?

More from the Sun, as Leeds United are confident of completing an audacious January loan deal for out-of-favour Tottenham target man Fernando Llorente.

The Championship side think that the promise of reuniting Llorente with Marcelo Bielsa, his former coach at Athletic Bilbao, will be enough to entice the Spanish striker to temporarily step down a division.

The 33-year-old has played less than 140 minutes of football for Spurs so far this season and spoke in October of his desire to rediscover the joys of first-team football.
