Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the Whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Nick Powell to RB Leipzig

Powell is out of contract at the end of the season and, according to TEAMtalk, the Bundesliga club are ready to offer the midfielder a deal in January which would see him move to Germany in the summer. The report claims the former Manchester United player has turned down several contract offers from the Latics and is also wanted by Celtic, Brighton and Burnley.

Ander Herrera to Athletic Bilbao

Herrera is free to leave Manchester United at the end of the season and the midfielder's former club can discuss a summer move from January. Herrera arrived at Old Trafford from the Basque side in 2014 and, according to AS, would be open to returning now that president Josu Urrutia will be stepping down at the end of the year. United, however, hope they can convince the 29-year-old to sign a new contract.

Amadou Diawara to Wolverhampton Wanderers

The Premier League side are monitoring the midfielder's situation at Napoli and could launch a move in January if he continues to remain on the fringes of the first-team. Diawara has only featured six times for the Serie A side and Calciomercato claim Jorge Mendes has contacted Napoli on behalf of Wolves to discuss a potential move.

Jean-Clair Todibo to Liverpool

Having impressed after breaking into the Toulouse first-team this season, the 18-year-old centre-back is attracting attention from Europe's biggest clubs. La Depeche claim Liverpool are in the hunt for Todibo's signature and could make a move in January. The defender hasn't signed a professional contract with the Ligue 1 side so the Reds would only have to pay a minimal fee. Juventus, Lyon, RB Leipzig and Wolves are also all reportedly interested.

Maxi Gomez to Tottenham Hotspur

Since arriving at Celta Vigo in the summer of 2017, the Uruguayan has established himself as one of the most promising strikers in Europe. And Gomez' six goals and four assists in 10 games this season has piqued the interest of Tottenham who, according to El Pais, are considering a move for the 22-year-old. They would, however, face competition from Borussia Dortmund if any bid was submitted.
